Do you know an educator who is committed to promoting cross cultural diversity? Think the community should be aware of their accomplishments while encouraging others to follow in their lead?
As part of the 10th Annual Hill Physicians Asian Heritage Street Celebration (AHSC), outstanding Bay Area teachers, administrators, and staff will be honored for their ideas and strategies in bringing together the community to celebrate and promote cross cultural diversity and awareness. The public is invited to submit nominations.
Awardees will be presented with glass plaques and a prize from Target on stage during the 10th Annual Hill Physicians Asian Heritage Street Celebration set for Saturday, May 17th, 2014 in Civic Center/Little Saigon.
The awards program and ceremony are organized by the AsianWeek Foundation and sponsored by Target stores as part of the annual School Awards Program that the AHSC has hosted since its inception to recognize the accomplishments of teachers and administrators of Asian Pacific Islander heritage.
For individuals (administrators, faculty, educators and staff), nominees must be of Asian descent and demonstrate exemplary commitment to promoting cross cultural diversity and awareness in their campus and/or community (e.g. diversity showcase, foods day, etc.) All Bay Area public and private schools K-12 are eligible to apply. Schools may nominate more than one individual. The AsianWeek Foundation will select at least 4 winners total.
