School Fundraiser  Program

The AHSC School Raffle Program is a community based project to (1) provide a no-risk fundraiser opportunity for our public schools, (2) to enhance our children’s learning and extracurricular activities, and (3) familiarize students at an early age about the concepts of giving and raising funds for community purposes.

Enter your school’s club, group, athletics team, etc. to participate today! Contact: Angela Pang, apang@asianweek.com, (415) 373-4002. The 2012 Make Some Money For your School Raffle Program kicks off March 12, 2012 and goes on until May 11, 2012. Prize results will be announced by May 25, 2012.

Tickets are sold for $3 and $2 goes directly back to each school. The extra $1 goes into a bonus for the top selling school in each division (elementary middle, high), who will be awarded a $500 cash prize. Each school that sells at least 20 tickets will also receive a $100 bonus! There will be multiple prize drawings throughout the 8th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration set for Saturday, May 19 at Civic Center. Winners need not be present to win.

The program is managed by the AsianWeek Foundation and accounting services are provided by Louie and Wong LLP.

Schools may sign up by filling out the form below and submitting it before April 1, 2012.

School Awards  Program

Do you know an individual or school who is committed to promoting cross cultural diversity? Think the community should be aware of their accomplishments while encouraging others to follow in their lead?

As part of the 8th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration (AHSC) School Awards Program, organized by the AsianWeek Foundation and sponsored by Target, Bay Area schools, students, administrators, faculty and/or staff will be honored for their ideas and strategies in bringing together the community to celebrate and promote cross cultural diversity and awareness. The public is now invited to submit nominations.

Awardees will be presented with glass plaques and gift cards from Target during the 8th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration set for Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Civic Center/Little Saigon. The ceremony will take place inside the Asian Art Museum’s Samsung Hall at 11 a.m.

The 8th Annual AHSC School Awards Ceremony will be open to the public as a program of the 8th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration and as part of the free Asian Art Museum day underwritten by Target.

The award ceremony is part of the annual School Awards Program that the AHSC has hosted since its inception to recognize the accomplishments of students and teachers who are of Asian Pacific Islander heritage in categories not typically celebrated. In the past, students and teachers have been honored for community service, visual and performing arts, environmental science, and nutrition while teachers, administrators, and counselors were honored for their work in athletics and commitment to educating their students about the Asian Pacific American experience.

All nominations must be submitted to Angela Pang at apang@asianweek.com or by fax at (415) 373-1040 and received by 5pm PST on Friday, April 6, 2012.
Hard copy of forms can be downloaded here:

Forms can also be filled out online here: – School Awards Form.

The winners will be announced during the ceremony and presented with glass plaques and Target gift cards.

The Awards Ceremony will be open to the public as a program of the 8th Annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration and as part of the free day at the Asian Art Museum sponsored by Target.
